Sick. Blah.

I ended up at the Doctor today. Going to the Dr. here and in the US are very different. First, there are the differences you expect because you are in Germany... When you are sitting in the waiting room and someone walks in, they say "Guten Tag!" and when they leave, they say "Wiedersehen!" - all without looking at you, of course. all name tags say Frau or Herr Lastname, and when they call you back, it is "Frau Schmidt, bitte." But then there are differences that could just be differences in the doctor, or differences in the way things are done.

The exam was very thorough (I had to take off my shirt and unfasten my bra thorough!)an he diagnosed me with the flu. Woohoo! Happy fricking vacation to me. Luckily, it isn't accompanied by the tummy stuff it can sometimes be. Blah.

After the doctor, we stopped at the grocery store and then came back to the apartment where I have happily stayed for the rest of the day. I have spent the time planning our trip to southern Germany, reading and watching TV. Once I get the plans figured out, I will post them here. Until then, I will try to breathe.

Tomorrow, we are headed to a birthday party. Andre's girlfriend, Valeria is Italian and comes from a huge Italian family, and her sister invited us to her birthday party. Andre said that their get-togethers are like in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, so I can't wait!
